Energy Wars trial run

Thursday, May 1st, 2008

For the first time, 4 DePauw Residence Halls (Mason, Lucy, Bishop Roberts, and Longden) were pitted against each other to see who could use the least amount of electrical energy and water in April 2008. Administrators and Environmental Club officers hope to expand this project to a semester-length for next year.

Mason Hall was the winner, and collectively, they saved 24,100 kwh of electricity ($1205) and 212,651 gallons of water when compared to the records of that month in 2007. There were also several letters to the editor sent in to The DePauw to encourage participation. Great job guys!
